UnCoveR webinars
Gender, Violence, Media and Arts
2024-2026
This webinar series aims to shed light on the portrayal of gender violence and sexual violence in various forms of contemporary media and arts representation and its impact on society. We will explore, on the one hand, how the media and the arts can perpetuate harmful stereotypes, normalize violence, silence victims, and contribute to the culture of gender-based violence, and, on the other, discuss how they challenge social imaginaries and rape myths, hence promoting change. Through this series, we seek to initiate meaningful discussions and encourage collective action toward creating a more inclusive and safe media landscape. The webinars will feature researchers, as well as writers and artists.
