Jaili Ivinai Buelvas Diaz
Biography
Jaili Ivinai Buelvas Díaz is a doctoral student in the Sociology of the State, Law, and Justice program at the CES-FEUC. His research explores the public policies that affect ethnic populations in Latin America, with a special focus on Colombia. He examines the complex and dynamic relations between the state and indigenous communities using an intersectional, decolonial, and interlegal lens. He draws on his academic background in social history and anthropology, as well as his extensive fieldwork experience with different ethnic communities in Colombia. He holds a master's degree in anthropology from the National University of Colombia and a master's degree in history from the Federal University of Ceará (Brazil). He has also served as a legal anthropologist for the Colombian State, facilitating the dialogue and coordination between the Special Indigenous Jurisdiction and the Ordinary Jurisdiction. He is passionate about contributing to his country's and region's social transformation and advancing knowledge in his field of study.
