Beatriz Marques Gonçalves
Biography
Beatriz Marques Gonçalves is a PhD candidate of the Doctoral Programme Discourses: Culture, History and Society at the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra, and assistant lecturer at the Anglo-American Studies Section of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the same university. Her PhD project focuses on the works of poet M. NourbeSe Philip, and was funded by FCT (grant 2022.13155.BD). She holds a BA in Modern Languages, with a major in Anglo-American Studies and a minor in Portuguese, awarded by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra. Her research interests lie in American studies, contemporary poetry and fiction, the politics of language, and pop culture and the civic imagination.
